The Ever Changing and Amazing Burrito!
Burritos are without a question the most diverse food possible. When you say ‘I want a burrito’ you could be asking for several different types of food. There is no typical type of burrito. I think that is why people like the burrito so much; they can have whatever they want on it and dont have to worry. You can have a healthy burrito with just carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, and dressing, or you can have a protein packed burrito with steak, beef, cheese, chicken, and whatever else you can imagine. Its no wonder that places like Chipotle and Taco Bell are doing so well these days and having no trouble turning a profit. Burritos truly are the universal food. Recently while browsing the menu at McDonalds I saw something that made me have even more faith in this already delightful food. McDonalds offers something they call a breakfast burrito. This consists of eggs, cheese, and ham or sausage or bacon. This is truly unbelievable because now you can eat a burrito at breakfast, lunch, and dinner without having to deviate from the traditional foods for each meal. You can have your eggs and sausage in the morning and you can get it quickly and in a form where you dont need a knife and fork and can eat it while driving (Not Recommended). In a mere 3 minutes you can stop and have a full meal in your hands that requires very little effort to eat. Simply raise the delicious treat to your mouth and you have all the foods you want for breakfast in a small package. Although the wrap may not be the healthiest thing for you to have all the time, there are many alternatives that allow you to enjoy a burrito while still staying health conscious. You can choose a whole wheat burrito, tomato burrito, vegetable burrito, and many others that I am yet to discover. Personally I enjoy the classic white burrito the best. The price that you pay will of course depend on where you get it and what you decide to pack it with. I have seen advertisements for burritos with salmon and other types of fish, but these usually run a little bit more expensive than your traditional beef and rice burritos. Burritos are not for everyone, and sometimes I prefer a meal with a fork and a knife. The flavors of the individual foods are hard to distinguish and taste while packed in a burrito. This is probably why burritos dont have expensive ingredients and are usually a cheaper alternative to a sit down fork and knife dinner. Usually the meats used are not the highest quality, and while delicious, burritos are not hard to make at all. I have made burritos at my house by just throwing together some leftovers in a wrap. Most of the time I would rather have a Burrito than a sit down meal due to its simplicity, cost effectiveness, and because it tastes really good.
